UPDATING SEEDARTLAB ONLINE STORE
SEEDARTLAB UNPACKED !!
The images here are of things I have recently uploaded - take a peak and you will find. Apart from IMAGE 1 which is a logo for a postcard a while back.
Currently I'm having a joyful DEEP DIVE into the boxes & corners of my overflowing studio this winter. Determined not to lose track of things about a year ago I began excavating.
First realisation was how much artwork I'd produced since Covid first made its dramatic appearance. Thankfully I had several small exhibitions and found wonderful response to some new directions in the studio .
But more recently, focusing on completing works rather than just starting new pieces has brought such satisfaction & joy ... and the recognition of how easy it is to simply be so busy you forget what artworks have yet to even see the light of day.
Anyone following the story of SeedArtLab in person, online or through NEWSLETTERS ( SIGN-UP page at this store + archive for newsletters since 2011!) will possibly know my passion for Seeds became a project in 2009, kicked off a year long Homage to the Seed Residency at Brisbane Botanic Gardens in 2010 then led to one of the busiest, most fascinating times of my life. SCIENCE, CULTURE, HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, ART ... the WORLD OF SEEDS - so many lenses! I was hooked!
In 2018 I celebrated my 60th birthday ... quietly astonished at what was packed into my Art Practice since moving to Brisbane in 2008. That same year however a few warning signals came through health disruptions to maybe consider not cramming in quite so much ... yet we artists & creative types tend to love what we explore and make so much we forget its work & what time-out and pacing oneself looks like.
Eventually, with personal and family changes, like caring for my darling elderly Mum since late 2021, pacing myself became the key lesson at the TOP of my daily to-do list.
The CLEAR POSITIVE - with more time for attention to what sits right in front of me everyday at home I started looking at my work differently, musing more deeply on my teaching approach, reconsidering the things I value most, and that has included the stories behind the work at this ONLINE STORE ... seeing all with new eyes.
Amazing people have connected with me through this avenue ... from my local region, across the country + overseas. Some connect online too so one gets to see the magic you & they are bringing to everyday life even if one only sees from afar.
This sometimes neglected shop (times away on residencies, teaching etc) has gained fresh attention & the energy to focus now ... first on editing out typos then moving to more exciting things I hope. Would be great to make the experience of visiting here more streamlined ... for one who loves words & telling stories that will be a test.
I seriously do wish to do a smoother job of posting and "playing shop". So I humbly ask ... if you notice a glitch and have a moment - PLEASE let me know. No clever staff to outsource things to here so its down to me to notice & fix any errors and hopefully learn what makes a more fluid and fun experience on this kind of platform.

Exciting new ART pieces will be coming to this shop ... and for some very affordable prices. Many smaller options are ideal for you to save on framing costs when you DIY! Want my quick tips ... just ask :)
So watch this space OR let me know what you are interested to see!
And do feel free to contact me if you would like to deep dive through a pile of artworks not online here yet ... some clients have done this really successfully with me via email ...or in person for that matter if you are in my part of this big, wide world.

About image 6: This special lady framed in Gold has lived in various studios of mine over years... a Melbourne artist, sadly whose name I can't recall, created endearing artcards ... this one seemed especially auspicious for an artist to have tucked up on a shelf ... thanks to OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL CASH FLOW for emanating this message of value and honour for that which keeps an artist able to create and find homes for that which is created.
