The original artwork was produced in three stages.

First incidentally as a notebook during the artist's UK research residency in 2011. Later back in Australia the handwriting was lightly painted over with ink. Sometime later seed drawings from the official journal the artist kept whilst working at the Millennium Seedbank at KEW Wakehurst Place became the inspiration for the semi-abstract seed drawings and finally the individual pages were collaged together in this elongated form and exhibited in the US.

The limited Edition print was created before the artwork was sent away... and the first collector of the print was a scientist who'd worked at the Millennium Seedbank in the 2000's.
