Commencing at 10.30 am & running through till 2.00 pm (taking 30 mins off for shared lunch) we will have a wonderful 3 hours to focus on ink mark-making and drawing , testing out papers of all kinds and sizes.

A DEMO on creating an Artist book from all your experiments will kick you off on a project to complete in your own time. INK and PAPER can be ideal materials to take along on a quiet holiday or as an outdoor activity. Something to keep in mind!

WORKING WITH INK is something I've cycled around with over decades... both as a support to my art practice, and especially since spending 11 weeks in Hong Kong on two residencies in 2017, as a more serious interest.

Research into the ink on paper traditions and particularly contemporary ink practice in Asia is one of my fascinations.

DURING OUR WORKSHOP:

We will take a mid-way break for refreshments and reflection on what we're exploring d\so bring something to share over a cuppa - various teas & coffee I'll provide.

All Art materials - ink and a wide range of paper surfaces - will be included in the $140 workshop fee. Mark-making tools will also be supplied.

BRING
+ a visual diary & pen for notes etc
+ a smart phone
+ some twigs or a handmade brush - although plenty will be provided.
+ IF you have some unusual papers bring a tiny sample to test ideas especially IF you
have a serious interest in unusual papers this might be time to bring
something really special to experiment with.

Light refreshments provided ... bring lunch or a plate to share if you wish.

NB: Solar-powered Air conditioning means we will be conformable whatever the weather is doing that day.

This unique ONE-OFF WORKSHOP at my Studio in BRISBANE NORTHSIDE can be booked for an alternative date. IF this date doesn't work for you call & we'll find ANOTHER TIME .... particularly if you can assemble a group to lock-in a date.
