"Wow oh WOW! Have you seen the Seed Library yet? It is amazing! With the art on the perfectly designed packets by local artists in conjunction with The Cooroy Butter Factory, excellent information put together by our amazing seed saving team & the powerhouse team at the Library this initiative is one that is bringing a sprinkle of magic back to local gardens.
Within the first 6 days of the seed library being open, they loaned out 200 packets! Loaned you may ask? Well, how it works is that you can loan a packet of seeds if you are a member of the library (2 packets per visit), learn about the plant with the info provided, plant the seeds, watch them grow and flourish, and when it is time for them to reach enlightenment/go to seed, there are wonderful instructions as to how to collect the seed & return it back to the library! Why is this an important activity? Over the years of growing, collecting, re-planting seed, the genetics of the plant change to suit our climate, our soil conditions and become hardier within the local area and this my friends, is so very important for the viability & health of the plant & in turn us!
