CONTINUA: An Ode to Ongoingness

The continuum of life represented through the artist's signature abstracted motif. the native rainforest species - a black bean seedpod - CastanOspermum australe - speaks to literal and symbolic phenomena heightened by a world in great change.

NOTE: Castanospermum is a monotypic genus in the legume family Fabaceae. The sole species is Castanospermum australe, commonly known as Moreton Bay chestnut or black bean. It is native to rainforests on the east coast of Australia, and to nearby islands of the southwest Pacific Ocean. [wiki]

This original work on linen is a 2 m x 64 cm painting.

The linen is an unusually strong element in this elongated composition as the surface is not entirely blocked out by painted areas. Its surface is also texturally rich with natural imperfections of the linen cloth left showing.

The work has been professionally mounted on a timber hanging bar at the top with D clips ready to mount on a wall.
