BE SURE TO SCROLL THROUGH THE 5 IMAGES SHOWN Here + at January workshops box to LEARN MORE.

Images here include 2 examples from a recent Tweed River Gallery workshop where experienced creatives & newbies spent a day exploring seeds through a variety of mediums & processes... via experimental exercises designed to open up fresh ways of working. When at Plantbank you will be exposed to seed forms found in the archives... a rich biodiversity stored onsite & from around the grounds. At Sophie's Instagram Gallery you can scroll through to discover wide-ranging seed-based artworks & other images from 2014 workshops.

This WORKSHOP is being held at the Australian PlantBank on the grounds of the Australian Botanic Garden Mt Annan in South West Sydney between Camden and Campbelltown ... see website :

This will provide you with useful information, a map, & so on. Do not hesitate to make contact!

If coming for one day only please note that Saturday is suggested as the BEST day for you to attend for the benefit of the INTRODUCTION.

If there is interest we may offer a third day, Monday March 21st, for those who wish to make the most of the opportunity to spend an intensive 3 days working in this unique and stimulating environment.

Our January workshop was an ideal time to offer three days for those who could stay on longer. It may be possible in March too as I will be onsite. Just ask!

The Persoonia Lab is our classroom... seating 24... however smaller classes are ideal for 'Seeds through the Artist's Lens workshops' and of course the extensive grounds can be accessed at any time during the day for a wander or chance to draw outdoors. NB: Saturday we will be focused on a series of experimental work inside the Lab.

You will be given a short list of things to bring... smart phone, journal, handful of art materials if you have some things of your own you particularly like to use that can be added to all that will be supplied in class for your use. Those staying only one day will go home with a simple concertina book to work on further.

AN OUTLINE OF WHAT YOU WILL DO EACH DAY WILL BE SENT OUT...this might give you ideas of some extra things you might like to bring along.

Catering is BYO. The Gardens has an excellent cafe near the Visitors Centre (see Garden's Map) so before class commences you may wish to stop by there for a coffee & to pick up food if you wish. We'll link you to their website for you to check what's available.

NB: A kettle, various teas + biscuits will be available to you each day.

For anyone staying nearby to attend this workshop the artist's tip is to check out Wotif or similar for affordable recommended options. Anyone wishing to join Sophie for Saturday and/or Sunday dinner is welcome. After two previous residencies her familiarity with good casual local dining options is reliable.
