Sophie Munns is presenting a fabulous SEEDS|ART|RENEWAL WORKSHOP
@ FOOD CONNECT - 3 / 8 Textile Crescent, Salisbury, QLD 4107
This special FUND RAISING EVENT will support the Local Regenerative Farmers and Food producers supplying the Food Connect Brisbane community who are currently dealing with major losses in the aftermath of the Flood emergency in Late Feb/early March. *Discover Food Connect via social media: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
ALSO BE SURE TO READ ABOUT the informal drop-in drawing session for all ages between 10 am start and 4pm close below... its NOT an artist-teacher-led formal class but a wonderful, relaxing taster experience that is very unique and highly rewarding ... a coin box is there for donations to the flood appeal for these participants . You dont need to book formally but do send a text to say if you think you'll come for that on 0430 599 344.

MORNING. 10am till 12.30pm

AFTERNOON 1.30pm to 4pm NB: Nearly full (at 10am Saturday April 2)
We are very lucky to have plenty of room for a lively big class to spread out + display space for the artist'/s seed collections & artworks etc in such a wonderfully, large warehouse venue at FOOD CONNECT.
Arrive 20 - 30 mins early ready to start your highly stimulating 2.5 hour workshop program & bring your smart phone/ iPad and if you wish... a journal or Visual Diary.
If coming to the afternoon class you can arrive quite a bit earlier to look at displays and artworks on sale.
NB: Smart phone/IPad is for a seed photography segment before we get started with mark-making and drawing with twigs in ink on paper..
All art materials will be supplied, plus a cup of tea & something to nibble.
BOOKINGS ARE TO BE MADE IN ADVANCE:
$60 can be paid through this SeedArtLab ONLINE STORE... or email [email protected] if you wish to make a bank transfer.
$10 of your $60 booking will go to cover workshop costs.
AND
We're delighted to be directing $50 of your $60 workshop fee as a donation to the FOOD CONNECT FOUNDATION to be shared equally between their stable of Food growers/producers currently rebuilding in the aftermath of the recent Flood disaster.
PLEASE NOTE: for the purposes of ensuring positive FUND-RAISING efforts the Workshop place you book will be NON-REFUNDABLE on this occasion ... but do please let us know if there's a problem.
You can of course gift your fund-raising ticket to a friend or even someone impacted by these catastrophic floods who would welcome the offer of a place at the table.

A full table of say 15 (+) ppl at both morning + afternoon sessions equates to

ARTWORK & a couple of additional offers will be available for purchase on this day for further contributions to the fund-raising appeal.

In the last 6 months, due to Covid disruptions & needing to stay local for a elderly family member Sophie Munns has restricted her teaching to schools where Senior Secondary School Students are working on the CREATIVE INQUIRY syllabus & text book that features a case study of the artist's Project and Artwork.
THIS WORKSHOP at Food Connect is the first public class she has offered in a while although lovely people have been writing hoping for dates to be able to attend a one or two day SeedArtLab Workshop ...
so this is the perfect taster for anyone who's keen ... perhaps those who work with the QLD SENIOR SECONDARY SULLABUS / CREATIVE INQUIRY or who may have a love of seeds or have long wanted an opportunity to attend one of Sophie's masterclass workshops priced at $145 per day.
NB: JUNE MASTERCLASS DATES will become available in April.
SUNDAY APRIL 3 a display of Artist books, journals, seed collections and Artworks will be set up at FOOD CONNECT for all to view who participate in the workshops or those who simply wish to drop by and take a look at purchasing an artwork ... a 50% donation will be also made from artwork sales ... and there'll be a special box of bargains to fossick through!
