Exploring SEED DIVERSITY through ART welcomes the curious, whether highly experienced or finding your way with visual exploration.

If you're keen to dig deep into the extraordinary world of seeds you'll soon be travelling through a sequence of stimulating visual processes and ideas that highlights seeds in both their biological diversity and potency as a symbol throughout the ages over the course of 2 days.

You may bring along samples of native seeds & pods from your local area if you enjoy collecting and all you need bring is a small kit of useful things from home.

SEE LISTS BELOW - WHAT YOU MAY BRING AND WHAT IS PROVIDED.

3. Smart phone seed documentation is a foundation.
4. Diverse ways of drawing and representing seeds Day 1 - morning.
5. Experimentation is key ... colour, texture, finding/abstracting form ... looking at motif, symbol, patterning , geometry, seeds under through various lenses.

WHAT WE WILL GET UP TO:

Mixed media supplies and a range of papers will be put to use in a program of lively exercises for wide-ranging experimentation both mornings.
Expect to be very busy testing approaches.

Afternoon sessions slow down to focus on generating colour panels for development as concertina books and artist. books that also include all the experiments from morning sessions.

You'll be encouraged to make 2 or more books ... ... taking home work for finishing at your pace at home. Processes like stitching, collaging, adding furthering layering to your work allow your book projects to take on a life of their own. Individuals work at different paces ... and the day is designed to give you lively, varied approaches that lead to new & rewarding directions for your own particular art practice.

Over the weekend many stories and concepts around seeds will be touched on & you'll be given a change to respond visually to some key themes that hold interest for you.
